Re: What does it mean to Fade a pick? (Not in FAQ_
i wouldn't call it that, really...bankroll wise, i can fade a $200 loss...i wouldn't like it, but it wouldn't put me out of business either..
my brother gives me this [censored] all the time...he (barely, i've seen his stats) beats a higher level than me (nl100 on bodog), albeit for a lower rate, but we both agree that i'm technically 'better'. he just has more gamble than i do... i have a good job, make decent money, and play cards as a pasttime...that said, i've studied, read enough books, and hung out around 2+2 to make sure that my pasttime doesn't cost me money... i can sit up here for a couple hours, jam to my itunes, and come out a few bucks richer on most nights, that's fine by me...basically make enough money to withdraw once a month and buy more 2+2 books!! |

[ QUOTE ] yikes...and my basic unit for sports betting is 10 bucks!! [/ QUOTE ] I was a relatively small trader when I was in the pits in New York and Chicago, but some of the guys around me took gut-wrenching risk with their own money. Six-figure daily swings are the norm for big locals (independent market makers) in the futures markets. ... LOL! Nobody ever got rich by fading Goldman Sachs. [/ QUOTE ] Scalping bid-offer and arbitraging against your customers is not beating the market. (And neither is mishandling orders and violating all the crossing rules--see the huge suit against the nyse specialists.) |
