Default 30/60 potawatomi, boring till the river

UTG,HJ,Button limp, SB completes, I check in the BB with K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]10 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

Flop:10 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

SB checks, I bet, only UTG calls.

Turn: brick(black 3 or something)

I bet, UTG calls.

I decide that I am going to check raise a heart on the river.

Edit to add: I will check call most other river cards.

Like?

UTG is really loose and chases too much but is pretty good and getting value out of his made hands. I've seen him limp in early position with suited 4 to 5 gappers like Q7 and non suited 2 gappers.

meh, i would just bet a heart on the river...he will call or even raise worse hearts and im much more comfortable putting in 2 rather than 3 bets on a heart river...he will also check behind on the river with small flushes that he will call with (if he has like T7h or something like that)...

I would be surprised if OP was planning on calling a 3-bet.

yeah, i wasn't sure...op said villain was pretty loose and got good value from made hands, which lead me to believe he is going to play aggressively if he completes a draw (but i obv don't know the villain or whether it is right to call a 3bet from this guy, so i put it in the post)...

When is a c/r, then fold to the 3-bet a better play than bet/call on a river heart? Or vice-versa? Is this even a legitimate question?

FWIW, I'm a small-stakes player mainly.

I decide that I am going to check raise a non-heart on the river.

Not saying I like that either, just that it makes a little more sense.

Basically the check raise is an attempt to get two bets out of him because I think he may only call with the J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img],9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img],or 7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] if I bet out. He may fold the 7 when I check raise but I don't think he can fold the other two.

If he has the Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] he's raising if I bet out but not three betting me so I get 2 bets with both a bet/call or check/raise. This may also be the case for the J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].

I'm not getting 3-bet bluffed here or 3-bet by a worse [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img](small chance I'm three bet by Q :heart, very small) so I'm folding the river to 3-bet

As for non-hearts I check raise a 10 or K but check call every thing else to induce a bluff.

Any way thats my thinking, should I just go back to the standard bet/call.

much better to checkraise a heart on river.

It's more profitable as I would expect almost any heart to bet there. Plus gutshot+overcard-type hands will be induced into bluffing.

This hand will give u a better image as well and u will be be given free cards more often and bluffed more rarely.

pple that say otherwise aint maximizing.

Bob,

Apparently they just started spreading the 30-60(kill to 40-80), it's going to run on Tuesdays at noon. There were about 20 names on the call in list but by 5pm there were none but it was still going strong at 8pm when I left. There were a couple of donators in the game so I was pretty happy with it, plus they are only raking $3.

I think the next highest limit running was 5-10. There were some names on the 10-20 and 20-40 but not enough to start a game.
