Default Hollywood in Aurora, IL expanding?

So I was playing 20-40 there last week and a dealer was saying that the casino put in a request with the gaming board(or whatever it's called in Illinois) to spread no-limit. Then he also mentioned that they are talking about expanding the room but had no time line. Has anyone else heard anything?

When they first moved off the boat there was talk of a larger poker room going back on the boat. I hope what you heard is correct but the state never makes it easy for poker players.

There have been rumors of that place getting a real poker room for as long as I can remember. Hasn't happened yet...

The first thing I thought when I heard this news was, crap I better work on my no-limit game because there goes the 20-40. Am I right in thinking that if they get no-limit that the 20-40 will be a) a rock garden or b) nonexistent.

20-40 at Resorts is far from a rock garden and they have lots of NL tables.

It's my understanding that the poker room manager has tried to hold off for as long as possible in spreading NL games.

I don't see why any of it matters. This room is destined to remain a low limit room and they will fill their 6 tables no matter what.

If I were running this room, I'd increase the rake by $1 dollar a day, until people stopped coming. Then decrease it $1. I'll bet they could get you guys to pay a $10 rake easy.

Hollywood Aurora, Illinois is like a dayroom for senior citizens. Does anyone speak above a whisper in the entire joint? They have a platoon of Aurora cops patrolling the area. You'd think that was the only place in town receiving police service.

Very Very True. A few years back one of the card room managers there told me that they could run a $1000 max bet game. It could be run almost like no limit.

Well, the poker room managemer really does have his hands tied, both by stupid state laws and stupider upper level management. I was referring specifically to the two clowns that run day to day operations for the Aurora property.

As you can probably tell, I really hate that place. If I lived right across the street from Hollywood, I'd still get in my car and drive to Resorts to play poker.
