I have been reading through OOT for close to a year now. I have not made many posts, but I've made an observation... I get the distinct impression that many (not all) of the posters here are of the opinion that men are superior to women in intelligence. I know that blah blah blah men are better at math blah blah blah women are better at verbal skills, but I'm asking, IN GENERAL, what are your honest (even if you are not proud of them) thoughts/opinions on the overall intelligence of men vs women?

[/ QUOTE ]

In general, I think using broad brushes is stupid.

Like anything it just depends on the person. I have known some brilliant women and some stupid ones, just as I have met MANY stupid men as well as a lot of brilliant ones.

I DO believe men and women think differently and that this difference makes many people believe the the opposite sex is just not as smart.

Women seem to be alot more oblivious to the world.

Real possibility:
Men try to act more confident more of the time so even if they don't know something, they act smarter. This could give the false impression of men being smarter.

I personality think men in general are smarter as some evolutionary trait (huting takes more intelligence than staying home).

In my experience, intelligent men are capable of creative, strategic and abstract thought beyond the capabilities of intelligent women. Women can learn to compensate for this in various ways, but in terms of raw processing power men have the lead.

Men tend to be less talkative than women, women express their feelings/thoughts much more at whim than men. While a guy may be thinking something retarded, a woman is more likely to be the one to actually say it, so the perception is that women are generally less intelligent. IMHO.
