Default alternate flush line v fish

villain is buddylisted and sucks. the usual: plays too many hands, doesn't understand position, calls more than he bets...

i took this line because i figured he would bet the river a ton if i checked the turn behind. he might not bet as much as i would have, but i could overbet shove and he'd probably want to look me up a ton. obviously i risk certain cards falling, but i thought i might get more value from 8x, etc.

NL$100, four-handed

eff stacks: $89.70

terp is utg w/7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] and raises to $3.50, two folds, BB calls

flop

2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

BB checks, i bet $6, he calls

turn J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

we check

river J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

he bets $9, i shove. $70 to him

too fancy?

Too fancy. Betting turn is better imo. You can 2 street any pair and sometimes A-high, and he'll peel with a ton especially if it includes a club. Also, I don't like the big river raise. Its more likely he has like A4/A5/3x/ than an 8 or J that will snap call.

and it keeps the money from getting in. vs a passive calling station you need to do the betting, so bet, bet, bet.

I like the river shove, actually. Fish will think it's a bluff and you'll get looked up by any jack and often just an 8.

Otherwise, I'd still probably bet the turn, partly because if another club comes off we are sick and partly because it sounds like he's a donkey and you are building the pot so you can get more money in on the river.
