Help with bet/fold

I'm a B&M LHE player (3/6 - 10/20)

Can anyone point me to some resources/articles about when I should be using a bet/fold line vs. a check/call line? I burned myself last night... (with QT I bet a 87698r river and called a raise vs. a semi-passive player who had raised the 876 flop. Me = Duh!)

I've hit up the archives and Google and no luck finding any articles. Thanks for any help or advice you may have.
