At my apartment in Spain we had an easy solution to the cockroach problem. Whoever killed it got to decide who cleans it up.

just a little chiming in here... FFK over-stated the problem a tad.

There have been 1 coca-rowsh and 1 centipede and 1 spider in the past 8 months...

Boric acid is a fairly "pet safe" solution, and kills the bastids pretty well. Just line a little in cracks and crevices you think they move/enter/exit through.
