Poker trip suggestions please, first week in Jan

On Vegas strip, Excalibur seems to be one of the best deals I could find. You have to be willing to play $1/3 there for 5 hours a day to get the rate, but you'd be looking at something like $49 weekdays up to something like $99 weekends. Even on their web site, Jan 2-5 isn't expensive (New Year's crowd is gone I guess). $61-$131.

I couldn't figure out why the rates went way up for Sunday and even Monday nights - I suspected some sort of convention but my friend suggested NFL playoffs. Jan 6 (Sunday) is $151, Jan 7 (Monday) is $201, Jan 13 and 14 are $61 respectively (these are standard web site rates.)

You might think the Excalibur is tacky, but hey - if all you do is sleep there, it's a good strip location and a perfectly comfortable room.
