I hit it and get raised
Online $10/20.
MP is a weirdo who coldcalls all the time, plays a ton of hands preflop but only bets/raises postflop when he has a piece. In a small sample it seems that CO is just a very bad player, very loose preflop, seems to lose most of the time. Haven't seen him raise more than once in 50 hands or so. I open J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] UTG and MP and CO cold call. We take the flop three ways. Flop: 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] I bet, MP raises, CO calls, I threebet, MP caps, CO calls, I call. Turn: A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. Check, check, check. River: 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] I bet, MP calls, CO raises... Questions: Too much action on the flop? Once CO coldcalls once I think he's going to call again even if MP caps it. I have a billion outs, so I threebet this for value. Anyone not do this? Does it matter? On the turn I pick up more outs but I think my equity is about 1/3 and I feel like I do need to hit this to win, so I don't bother betting. Should I? The turn check-round was a total surprise, obviously. River: CO's raise was not expected, but I guess the flop coldcalls meant hearts. So he most likely has a flush. Does he have a crappy one often enough to make this a threebet-and-call? |

Re: I hit it and get raised
3-bet and hope MP makes a crying call with his KQ.

Re: I hit it and get raised
I don't really like going nuts on this flop. If you have an eq. edge it's pretty small, you have no FE and the pot is not that big. Also you have perfect position to C/R MP's bet if you hit. On the river I just call, maybe he has a lower flush but at least you'll get an overcall from MP.

Re: I hit it and get raised
if you assume he has hearts there are 28 combos, 7 Ax, 6 Kx, 5 9x, 4 7x, 3 6x, 2 5x, 1 4x. you are a 15-13 favorite IF you assume they are all equally likely which they most certainly are not. super standard go for overcalls situation.

the guy checked the turn he doesnt have the nuts [/ QUOTE ] Perfect. This guy had position on the field, if he has meekly calling along with the nut flush draw on the flop he's certainly betting the turn when checked to |

Re: I hit it and get raised
easy 3-bet, only K-high flush to be afraid of.

easy 3-bet, only K-high flush to be afraid of. [/ QUOTE ] PF action would be helpful here too. No way he has the nut flush. We know where the Q, J, and T of hearts are. That rules out most of the suited K hands. |

If you 3-bet the river, you played the hand perfectly.

the guy checked the turn he doesnt have the nuts [/ QUOTE ] That was precisely the thought I had and I wanted to check it was a decent one. Gehrig had it too. I win. TYVM. [ QUOTE ] i feel dirty responding to one of guy's "i dont have the nuts and was raised on the river" threads [/ QUOTE ] This is quite interesting to me because I hadn't noticed that I make lots of threads of this nature but I am prepared to believe it. I think this observation might be everything I need. I <3 gehrig. |
