Default Bush on homeland security

What grade would you give Bush on homeland security, and why?

If you realize that 'homeland' is a Nazi word, then you'll also realize what sort of grade you should be thinking off..

D-

He formed the second biggest bureaucracy in the federal government which was exposed during the Katrina disaster. Bigger does not mean better, especially with governement.

Oh yeah--southern border is porous while the airports have become a bit more secure---guess which way a potential terrorist is going to try to get in. Lots of talk--very little actually done,

I believe the Nazi's did use the term 'homeland' but it least it's not fatherland security.

F+. No big attacks on American soil since 9/11, which is psychologically pleasing, hence the '+'.

On the other hand, all American combat deaths in Iraq should be counted as American terrorism deaths, since the war is purportedly an anti-terror war (and since Bush calls the insurgents "terrorists," anyway). Even more significantly, since we basically own Iraq, the hundreds of thousands of Iraqi deaths which are direct and indirect results of our invasion should also be tallied as terrorism deaths.

So, 'fighting them there so we don't have to fight them here' does have a certain value to it, I think, but it's far outweighed by the cost of actually fighting them there.
