Default Post deletion needed in General & Tournament Circuit

General
Tournament Circuit

I did not ban because he also posted this. He states he's a long time lurker and there really isn't anything wrong with youtube linked post. However, the other posts are clearly spam.

The user name is very spammy as well. I'm not sure what the rules are on that.

If not just banned outright this "long time lurker" needs to be made aware of x-posting and spam rules. Though I don't think a ban would be too harsh in this case.

I'd would like to get your opinions (or the rules) regarding the above.

Long time lurkers know better than to post spam. Instaban. Only reason I don't do it myself is because it looks like he stopped and it can wait for the correct mods to do it.

What about the user name? Are names like that acceptable?

deac,

this type of posting has been defined as grounds for instaban by any mod, if you do want to give him the benefit of the doubt you could send him a PM telling him those types of posts aren't allowed and hit the notify mod buttons, but the username itself is borderline spam so I would lean towards instabanning.

I see no reason not to ban him. Like iron81 stated, I would rather the mods of General and Tournament Circuit be the judge(s).

I do think the username issue is something that we need to have a rule on if there isn't one already. Perhaps a new thread would be in order.

at the very least deletion and warning.

ban would not be unwarranted and is the most standard decision.

I went ahead and perma-banned him to keep any other spam from being posted. If anyone would like to change that...

The post deletion I, of course, can't do myself but his spam continues to get hits on the forums as we speak.
