I couldn't agree more. The Yankees are the Cowboys/Celtics/Notre Dame so it's understandable that most of their fans aren't from NY even though it's annoying. But when Sox fans pretend like they're any different when they're not from Boston or act like they're the gutty underdogs when they have the 2nd highest payroll; give me a break.

You took the words out of my mouth. I have a bunch of aquaintances who are Red Sox fans and not from that area who say stupid things like "people just like the Yankees because they're good", "Yankees spend so much money". I want to hit them in the face with an irony shovel.

People all over the country liked the yankees in the 80s? Funny i dont even remember NYers loving the yankees from when i was born until 1995. Only since middle of the 90s on have the yankees fans really come out in droves and have been seen everywhere and i live on Long Island.

While you're right that Yankees fans have become more outspoken since the team has returned to grace, you also live in a Mets-dominated area.

I suppose you can call Long Island Mets dominated, but the ammount of yankee fans i come across now is so much more then during the bad years.

Where did I say that? I hate bandwagon Yankee fans just as much.

Your post made it seem like the large portion of yankee fans dont like them due to the fact of being good or them having tons of superstars due to spending the money.
