Default why do overcards scare me?

Okay, I was really wondering why it happens. But it happens more often if I just lot a pot or two.

I have pocket tens, I raise, one caller, flop is 742 rainbow or not. I bet he calls. Now a JACK comes on the turn and it automaticly slows my action down. Like he could have had AJ or whatever and hit this jack.

It doesn't actually matter if a jack comes or not, it could be a Q/K/A. The A would scare me the most however.

Is there someone else who has the same experience.

MOST OF THE TIME, they didn't hit this overcard, but I am missing value there because I don't bet enough.

This definitely still happens to me and I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing. Once you get in the mindset that they can't have hit the overcard I think you're going to start giving stacks too easily.

TT is a hand you aren't going to get 3 streets of value from postflop, that flop was ideal and you can get a good bet in and fold out a lot of overcard only hands. Likely still left now are draws/sets/small pps. Depending on your pos you can bet/fold turn check behind river or check behind turn to induce a bluff.

My default is to just bet/fold turns when an over hits. Its not going to be easy for villain to put you on what you have, so he either has to have the hand himself to raise you, or have a really solid read. Much more often than not, especially at the micro's where ya play, its the former rather than the latter.

If it scares you, think what it'll do to your opponent. He'll probably crap himself if you're the aggressor betting into him even when an overcard hits
