how bad would you rate the turn check?

I usually will bet in a spot like this but I can't see this being that bad to practice a little pot control.

pot control is better for dry boards when there arent so many hands that will pay you off

I usually bet the turn too, but in this particular instance I think I had been getting hammered by turn raises, and I just decided to check. Not the greatest reason, but it happens :P

By the river, I couldn't put villain on anything except spades...his line just made no sense to me

I think you have to VB the turn...so many worse hands will calls (weaker Aces and all kinds of draws/pr+draws). As played I call pretty quick.
