"And I'm not talking about some four-hundred thousand dollar a year, working Wall Street stiff, flying first-class, being comfortable, I'm talking about liquid. Rich enough to have your own jet, rich enough not to waste time. Fifty, a hundred-million dollars Buddy, a player...or nothing."

Yup. And that was from a 1980s movie. Today, the "working wall st. stiff" type is now $1-$2 million, and the player is $250-$500 million. Just pick up a copy of Trader magazine and look at the compensations of the top 30 traders last year.

Pretty ridiculous.

it's great you've had a good year, but is it really smart to be looking on the outer limits of what you can afford (2.7) when you seem to be not sure about the future? this line:

[ QUOTE ]

I don't know about future years. I could be out of a job, or I could be making millions.

[/ QUOTE ]

would give me less of an appetite for risking a lot on real estate, not more.

True, but I don't want to live my life in a state of constant fear and tentativeness either.
