Hi everyone, first post, 2+2er invited me here to discuss this hand.
PokerStars Tournament, Big Blind is t600 with t50 antes (4 handed) Converter on pregopoker.com Hero (t5755) Button (t335) SB (t5655) BB (t1755) Preflop: Hero is in CO with Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Hero raises to t1200, Button folds, SB raises to t5605 (All-in), BB folds, Hero calls t4405 Opponents are unknown to me but I thought the BU & SB were very good end game players and BB was a fish. I've made no raises that weren't shoves since my stack got beneath 10x. Normally never min raise here, but I thought the SB couldn't resist shoving a wide range w/ two shorties on the bubble, thinking he'd have a lot of fold equity. Will post results upon request. JB p.s. assume everyone knows the payouts of 67.50, 40.50, 27 |

I think you made a mistake baiting him because there is a player about to bust. If you push, you can pick up the blinds obv, and he folds 99% of the time.
Push: Guaranteed 3rd place and pick up blinds Minbet: May get it in with a better hand, but risk busting. I haven't run number but my spidey-sense tells me that pushing is better. |

bubble play... shorty has 1/2 a BB. Hero is in BB next hand. If hero loses this hand, he is all in in the BB...
Run it in sngpt if you want... |

im not sure your call is a profitable play, even if he has like JJ here the times you get spiked the 300$ stack can fold a hand while your forced to go all in in the BB, therefore i push PF and fold to his raise.

If you estimate the villains range to be (99+,ATs+,AJo+) then you are going to be about a 2:1 favorite to win the hand (and I can fairly say to go on to win the tournament) giving you roughly $44 equity in this pot.
If you fold then I think you still have a decent chance to make it to second where you will be contesting the final $27.50 of the prize pool (on top of the $40 guaranteed), I think it is fair to say that unless you are severely short stacked then your equity is going to be greater than $4 (and greater than $44 overall). |
