Can you label all 50 states on a blank map?

So this topic came up in my group at work, and everyone besides me said no they cant. They also dont think this is important to know and seem proud to not know. These are all college grads from good schools. Isnt this something every educated American should be able to do without much trouble?

obviously the "yes" refers to whether Americans should be able to do all 50 - if you read the OP

I could do this without even hesitating. I believe I could get around 48 of the capitols too, if not 50.

I'm Canadian as well, and I tried doing this awhile ago, and got about 40 or so. I can name all 50, I just can't place some of them. I know what part of the US they're in, but some states like Rhode Island, Delaware, Maryland, etc... are tough to place exactly.

Now, how many Americans could name and place all 10 Canadian provinces and 3 territories? [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]
