While Moneymaker had more than what was in the pot, Farha had about the size of the pot left, making it effectively a pot-sized river bet. As I pointed out earlier, in terms of the bet-sizing and what Moneymaker's betting pattern represented, this was a very good bluff. If he had actually turned a flush, he should have bet it exactly the same way. A bad bluff would have been Moneymaker shoving on the turn like an internet donkey playing a $5 tournament. Don't overestimate physical tells. Moneymaker was exhibiting nervousness, but he could just have easily been nervous that he had a strong hand that wouldn't be called. |

Re: Moneymaker\'s bluff against Farha
There's a difference between making judgements based on physical tells that you think you notice from watching a few isolated hands on TV and physical tells that you think you notice from having played all day with the same player.

Out of one side of your mouth you proclaim Sammy to be this great player but out of the other Moneymaker's bluff -- which worked (for whatever reason)was, using your word, (sic) horribe. Reconcile your misguided thought process here. You know, for the record. |
