My computer won\'t work if I set the time correctly
For some reason my computer thinks it's an hour faster than it is, and when I set it to the correct time, the internet stops working...

Re: My computer won\'t work if I set the time correctly
did you double check the time zone?
if that doesn't do it, try turning off the internet time syncro. I wonder if you are having a problem because they jacked around with DLST again. |

Re: My computer won\'t work if I set the time correctly
My computer seems to think that PST is an hour faster than it actually is, even adjusted for daylight savings and synced to the internet. So while it's actually 10:40 here, my comp thinks it's 11:40.
Anyway, un-syncing it before I set the time (or changing the time-zone to Alaska time) seems to do the trick, but it's still a little bizarre. |

Re: My computer won\'t work if I set the time correctly
I think MS might have released a patch (I know they did for XP a bit back) because of the DST changes this year.

Yes, but it shouldn't be preventing the Internet from working. Thats just whack.

Re: My computer won\'t work if I set the time correctly
Maybe you are on some system that has to authenticate somewhere to get you on the internet? Some network servers will reject you if you're computer doesn't have the right time.
You've got a work around it sounds like, but you should be able to fix it here. If you're using XP... XP Daylight Savings Time Patch If you're using Vista or something, then you can find other versions a few paragraphs down this page: Windows DST Article Should be easy to just run the patch and straighten it out. Hope that helps. |
