Default Invincible

This is a nice follow up to my quad kings hand...

$50 buy in; 2500 chips; 5/10 blinds.

3rd hand of the tournament. No reads obviously.

Hero has A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] in MP

UTG+1 raises to 30, Hero calls, BB calls.

Flop (95) 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
UTG+1 bets 30, Hero raises to 80, BB folds, UTG+1 calls.

Turn (255) 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
UTG+1 checks, Hero checks

River (255) 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
UTG+1 bets 50, Hero raises to 300

I don't normally play like this (I usually never take my foot off the gas) but I just don't think that the villain has anything here (pf raise, cbet on a j high flop and then a check -- if he has a midpocket pair he is folding and if he has an overpair or set he is leading the turn) and I am hoping that he can find a way to improve (with black nines or something like that) or that he has a hand good enough for a river call when he would not have called a turn and river with his hand. I am also curious if I should have gone for a raise to 200 on the river instead of 300 since I think that he is very weak

why the small flop raise?

also, even though he's really likely to fold to the turn bet; might aswell make it, because checking behind to see the river is just gonna make it less likely he calls a bet (it looks fishy); and guarantees that we don't win his stack (unless he has a bizarre set/2p that fills up).

edit: i write like an idiot.

Checking this turn is a crime.

People make all sorts of call downs, and its not like there are tons of river cards that give a hand that would fold the turn to a regular bet a reason to put chips in the pot on the river. Keep the betting open, let him put money in and stop worrying about what hands he might have--people call with all sorts of crap, and semibluff, etc.

if he has 2 pair he will not fold turn, so that argument for checking is irrelevant

that wasn't an argumetn for checking the turn; it was why i think betting the turn is better. cause you'll get the money in way easier. Even if he has 2 pair you probably wont be able to get it all in on the river after checking behind.

How does a UTG+1 raiser possibly have 2 pair on this board?

If your going to raise the flop make it more. You have to bet the turn.
