I've just started diving into MTTs after playing SNGs for a long period of time. I notice early on in MTTs your shoves get called by easily dominated hands like AJ/AT/A8s, KJs, KQ, etc. so I'm thinking it would be most profitable to shove here pre-flop instead of call or re-raise.

What's the standard play here in a low-buyin MTT that makes the most money in long run?

I see your point escape, but when you are playing deepstacked, I think you want to maximize your value with AsKS a little more and go for a routine three-bet. It is a $5, so if you have a default play like pushing with AK here, I doubt you could ever go wrong with it.

I think you're a little deep to jam. The loosest most range for jamming AK pre generally accepted here are 10% of your stack becoming dead money.

I prefer 20%, personally.

though you are deep, low buyins like this are generally loose. You are definately out of position and its not an easy play. Shoving might not be a bad idea, and take the decesion making out of it post flop, but you could easily be flipping for your stack early. I dont see why a call and a check/raise would be a terrible line, though a call will expect UTG to call, which isnt really good either. Calling might be a little nitty, however, i dont like re-raiseing (to what, 500?, so 17% of your starting stack) out of position. If your going to re-raise, I think push due to position, however, overall, i would elect to call and then likely check raise the flop (hoping you hit it at all even if 2 spades + overcards).
