Re: I\'ve Heard Good Players Do This
I dont like the pf call. Also, I wouldn't bet the flop unless I was going to bet again on turn. The river bluffraise is the kind of play that I often think about making, but do. Can't really say about it.

Re: I\'ve Heard Good Players Do This
I don't think pf is as bad as people think, seeing how you're in position and almost getting 2.5:1. That being said, I fold pf I just don't think its awful to call if villain is super-ez to exploit post-flop.
I hammer this turn 100% of the time. What's wrong with villain CR'ing you? You lose alot less than when he insta-calls this river bluff with the nuts... and its not like you need to see a free card when you're drawing dead. I think he folds plenty enough to make it +EV and its good for the image to be firing alot at pots like this. |

But you're definitely correct in pointing out that people care way too much about preflop action. That was the whole basis of my response. If this guy's a total donk, why not call the small reraise if you know you can get him to fold too much or call too much? |

Re: I\'ve Heard Good Players Do This
Versus an unknown, not deep, I don't think this is a great preflop call. Flop seems fine, turn, can go either way, although a good point was made about hammering the turn and losing less with this line than getting caught bluffing the river.
River shove looks decent if you put him on KK thru TT and think you can fold it out. I don't think he's folding any Ace tho. I can see the temptation in doing this since his river bet does yell take over me please. |

[/ QUOTE ] Well for a start bc we don't know which [/ QUOTE ] Well it's situational, obviously. The idea is that the villain is bad enough (we assume, from his pf 3bet size) to spell out to you what he has, and you can exloit it. Personally, I fold this pf because I'm playing 8 tables and just couldn't be bothered with a hand like this. But I'm just saying an argument could be made to make this pf call... and if I'm 1 tabling or playing live, I probably make it. |
