Wife watches a ton more TV and bought this gift for "us." She'll use it a lot more than me, but still pretty damn nice.

So, to make a short story long, my dad sells insurance to this guy, who is in the National Guard, just got called up for duty in Afghanistan, AND, whose wife just got caught in an affair with a fellow Guardsman buddy of his. So, he's going to get a divorce, then go to Afghanistan and fight, so he needed his hands on some cash.

So he sold my dad his 4-month-old, good-as-new, $2100 universal weight set (bench, curls, military, pulldowns, leg press, leg curls, other attatchments for any other arm or leg weight exercise you can imagine) for $300 because he needed to get his hands on some cash to pay for the quick divorce and lawyer, etc.

And, in turn, my dad gave that to me for Christmas. It's really, really nice - better than a lot of the bigger sets I've seen at the Y.

Best part of the gift: The guardsman drove with my dad to my house (2 hours away), unloaded the thing and set it all up for me.

Very nice man going through a rough time ... I wish him the best of luck with his duty in Afghanistan. That said, I'm excited to have the universal set.

This thing is way too much fun. I've been driving my family insane with it.

Bad ass 10 inch chef's knife. The photo didn't work well. It's a Calphalon, and it's nice and heavy.

Bowls to go with my plates:

And this key chain

It roars and lights up (the one pictured is my sister's)

My brother just got back from Iraq. I got a turban. It's pretty sweet.
