Gift Ideas for Mom?

My Dad is easy to buy for.... he always is asking for this and that. Mom, on the other hand, puts me on gift buying tilt. She never gives any clues on what she would like to have. So here I am again racking my brain for some Christmas presents to get her. I ask her what she wants and the response: "I don't know"

She likes to read and I got her a Danielle Steel book. That's pretty much the extent of it though. I need to get her some stuff and I'm just a horrible gift giver. Any ideas?

Some hobbies:

She likes to cook, but has about every cook book/utensil/appliance on earth

She likes to play the video lottery machines, but I can't think of anything gift related (outside of cash) that would help in that department.

get her an awful present, that way she'll learn her lesson and give hints about what she wants in the future. she's your mom, it's not like she'll disown you. buy her a giant crate of cheap cigars, or a custom NFL jersey, or something you would like as a gift.

Buy something that you want. When she has no interest in it you can act surprised and hurt...and then you get to keep it.
