It's the price we pay for trying to keep this otherwise great thread bumped. It should never get lost in the shuffle so occasionally someone will post about how an announcer stated what the score was when it was posted RIGHT THERE ON THE SCREEN ZOMG!!! lol.

I think people are reaching, but in good effort to keep a great thread afloat. Meh. No biggie.

"to many americans South America = Mexico."

My Peruvian GF can confirm that this is correct.

You're dating a mexican? Man that'd be great. I'd love to have homecooked mexican food all the time.

Yeah, but let's not get culturally insensitive here guys.

Remember: there are all kinds of Mexicans. There are Cubans, Puerto Ricans, Brazilians, Peruvians, Argentinians, Chileans, and of course, Mexican Mexicans.

Kind of like the different types of Chinese people (Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese, Korean, etc.).

During the UCLA-ASU game yesterday, the UCLA punt returner calls for a fair catch at the 4yard line. A horrible play, to be sure.

"You've GOT to let that one bounce. 99.9% of the time, that's going into the endzone."

Today, for some God-forsaken reason, Jason Blaclock (see what I did was switched Blac for Whit, because Whit is sort of like White, but Whitlock is some sort of Sports Blacktivist or something. Anyway.)

Jason Blaclock was talking about how big of a game the Mizzou/Kansas game was going to be and he was saying that the two states hate eachother and it "goes back 200 years...one was a slave state, one wasn't."

What. The. Hell. Dude.

ehh, whatever. Up until a week ago I'd never heard of this (raised in Missouri first 16 years of my life), and I'm sure Whitlock hadn't either.

His whole "These two states hate eachother, it goes back 200 years....yadda yadda slavery." is nowhere near "hitting the nail on the head."

THe game will be great because it's #4 v. #2 or whatever. Not because "ZOMG SLAVERYYYYY 20 YEARS AGO!!!"

I would be willing to bet that Whitlock indeed did know something about this prior to just a few days ago.

I thought this was somewhat related and didn't quite deserve its own thread. Today BP posted an article by Gary Huckabay that absolutely tears into ESPN. Here is a quote that pretty much sums it up:

[ QUOTE ]
Quite simply, ESPN has turned into a completely unwatchable morass of utter drivel.

[/ QUOTE ]

The only problem is that you need a subscription to read it. Anyway, for those of you with one, here it is:

Kuselias on Mike and Mike this morning was on a roll:

Hughes and Cabrera and grade A prospect for Santana is a no brainer.

Favre should be MVP.

Missou and WVU should not be 1,2.

And then Lou Holtz comes on:

He hates the internet, with all the rumors blah blah blah.

No mention of all the controversy around Houston Nutt as being one of the main reasons he is gone.

When I was at Arkansas over and over and over again. Slurred obviously.
