BB bets t200, Hero folds.

Final Pot: t875

No particular read on villian. He's a winning player (profited ~$1800), but I didn't know this before the hand began so not sure that it's relevant.

As far as the hand is concerned, when he led out on the flop, I thought it was possible he had a weak ace and wanted to "see where he was at," so I thought he might fold to a raise or would c/f the turn. Of course, when he led out on the turn, I decided to give up.

Thoughts? Did I play this crazy?

i think the raise on the flop is a good move but i think u have to give it up on the turn. of course its annoying as hell when he is betting 1/4th the pot and i have found from experience that shoving there has been costly. everytime ive had this same situation a guy has a weak ace. now at bigger buy in sngs you could get him off his ace with an all in but at this level expect the guy to call a turn shove with any ace

Your raise on the flop does nothing. He will call you with any aces.

Just call and reevaluate on the turn.

Call flop, keep getting value from worse hands while keeping the pot under control. We have the Ks so not as worried about draws.

I am actually used to playing even lower levels than this (pathetic I know but trying to carefully build a bankroll) and would generally just call as everyone seems to suggest. Having said that, I suppose I made this move as I thought players at this level were slightly more competent and were sometimes capable of laying down a hand. Guess not.

Thanks for the advice.

What were you trying to fold out? You won't be folding out any better hands at a 5.5, even at most stakes.

[/ QUOTE ]A weak ace (either on the flop or the turn). I should've just called.. just wasn't sure what to do. I think I sometimes get a little too aggressive when people bet into me (it pisses me off).

Yeah, try & not be emotional about it. It's tough to fold out weak aces in 5.50s unless you are going to run the bluff the whole way.
