Default 22 flops set

villain seems like a calling station. Maybe I should've raised preflop, but with 2 limpers I chose to just complete.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (5 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

UTG ($25.65)
MP ($14.50)

Hero ($25)
BB ($24.25)

Preflop: Hero is SB with 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
1 fold, MP calls $0.25, Button calls $0.25, Hero completes, BB checks.

Hero bets $0.5, BB folds, MP calls $0.50, Button calls $0.50.

Turn: ($2.50) K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players)

No, he could have flopped a straight or hit the river with 88. I cant see you giving him respect for either of those holdings and people do crazy stuff all the time. if he flopped a straight well tough luck if he hit a set well tough luck.

I must be the biggest nit here b/c I usually dont like playing anything less then AJo OOP. But 22 here is way better ... please give me some info on why ... especially after 2 limpers?

because you will have initiative in the pot.
(take some downs with Cbets)
while position is important, a pocket pair like 22 is almost useless if you don't hit a set. And if you do, you will be payed off better if you raised pre flop.
I raise any pocket pair from any position if it's not raised to me ( no matter how many limpers and w/e position )

Raising pocket pairs like 22 to 55 everytime seems a little extreme. What if the stack sizes are only 40bb or 30bb? I know this doesn't happen too much but what if utg limps and your in the sb and you raise with 44 and utg 3bets you? If its over your 10% of your stack you can't call and expect to profit. I just feel like the hands you want in with small pps are AK, AQ,and Big pairs, that way you can stack them... by raising everytime they can effectively allowed to 3bet you and effectively force you off your hand. If I'm wrong on this please feel free to tear me apart.

ok say utg has AA. he limps UTG because he sucks, he also has 40bb because he sucks and does not rebuy.
I raise my 44 in MP.
He 3bets and "showed me his hand"
I fold.
All the other times when he does not have AA here but limps because he's scared of raising, I either:
Take the pot preflop because he is not calling a raise with T7o.
Take the pot on the flop because he missed it and checked to me, where I cbet.
Take down a hugh pot because he did hit but I hit my golden 4, and he can't lay down any decent hand.
Or he hit something and I miss, and I lose my raise and a cbet.

Think of this and reply when you think you understand or if you still disagree with me
