Default 6 pt NFLX Teasers

I noticed the 6 point, 2 team basic teaser strategy goes 3-0 tonight in NFLX. Usually these aren't as good early in the year, but I am not sure about NFLX. With the low totals, etc playing basic strategy looks good at -110 if ties push.

Anyone have any thoughts on this (basic strategy is to go up through 3 and 7 and down through 3 and 7).

Thanks

I thought Daliwong/ basic strategy NFL teasers were supposed to be better in the pre-season but I don't have my copy of SSB handy so maybe I'm wrong.

Bump.

I noticed that most online books are trying to protect themselves from these wong teasers again this year by keeping as many games as possible on the 3 with -/+ juice. What was the overall opinion last year on teasing off of the +3?

Today there are 6 teams I believe that fall between +2 and +3 that I will Wong Tease. I am using 5Dimes which pays 6 pt teasers at
2 team 1:1
3 team 1:1.8
4 team 1:3
5 team 1:4.65
6 team 1:7.5

6 Teams that Qualify today are
Houston, Detroit, New Orleans, Washington, St. Louis and Seattle.

I am playing all 2 team combinations today. Also a 6 teamer with all 6.

If I had time to setup the 3, 4 and 5 teamers I would. But I need to head to work. Anyway I will see if these teasers do well in the preseason today.

There may be times when the line is manipulated to protect the book against teasers, but -3 with a price attached is not it.

On a related note, I've seen these teasers offered...

2 teams, +6 (or 6.5 if the original line is a .5), ties lose, -110. This seems horrible compared to the -100 +6 ties push available elsewhere.

3 teams, +9 (or +9.5..), ties lose -110

4 teams, +12 (or +12.5), ties lose, -110

How bad are the last 2? Intuitively, they seem even worse, since each team in a 2-team teaser needs to be 72.3% to beat the juice, 3-team needs to be 80.5%, and 4 team needs to be 85%. Can the extra 3-6 points change the win% that much? Doesn't seem like it to me, but I don't have the data, which is why I'm asking.

5dimes is ties lose unless u inform them otherwise

+3 w/ heavy juice is NOT a form of protection against b.s teasers

Keeping games on the 3 and adjusting the juice doesn't hurt players that play teasers, it helps them if a push in a leg doesn't hurt the teaser.

Instead of teasing +2.5 up to +8.5, they get +3 up to +9.

I forgot to add: 5 dimes deals dual lines (at least they did the last couple of seasons) in straight plays and teaser plays. And they know which way to skew the teaser line to screw the player.

For example, if the regular point spread line is Home +1.5, they'll have Home +1 for the teaser line. I'm no fan of 5Dimes. In fact, their url is a misnomer. It should be called 1Nickel.

I just talked with 5Dimes and they informed me that a "tie + win" on two-team teasers push. "Tie + lose" loses.

Here's the link:

http://www.5dimes.com/SportsbookFrame.htm

Then click payoffs, then scroll down to Teasers.

I only used 5Dimes today because that was the first book I pulled up to throw these together before work.

TrixTrix and everyone, thank you for the clarification on keeping it on the 3 has nothing to do with these teasers. I understand that keeping it on the 3 has more to do with probably not giving people a strong number to middle in Football. Also TrixTrix are you saying that Wong Teasers are B.S.? Wasn't this argued over and over last year and was proven to be +EV?

EDIT: 5Dimes TEASER RULES

Teasers - Teaser wager payoffs depend on how many teams are selected and how many points are given to each team. Payoffs for football and basketball teasers are shown in the tables below. If there is a tie in one or more of your individual parts, then the wager steps down to the next lower number of teams. If a two-team teaser has a tie and a winner, then the teaser pushes, "No Action."

If a two-team teaser has a tie and a loser, the teaser loses. You may have your account set up for "Vegas" teaser rules (a tie and a loser = a TIE). By choosing this option, the account will not be eligible for bonuses of any kind. Only teasers played AFTER choosing this option will apply for the "Vegas" rules. Not all accounts will be eligible for this rule change.

5Dimes reserves the right to change teaser payouts on an individual account at any time without prior notice.
