Default 50nl the nuts, bad spot to call on turn?

got raised on turn and took the if-i-call-then-check-river-villain-will-bet-big-and-then-i'll-raise line. flush hits on the river and villain checks behind. obviously i suck. i should be raising the turn to protect myself against the flush and get more money in the pot, correct? what do i raise it to, $7? even though the flush hits i should still bet the river, right? villain's line doesn't look like a flush draw and i'm missing value by checking, correct?

Lead the flop.
Bet more on the turn, 1.5, definitely 3bet this turn, if villain is raising he likes his hand, a lot of cards could kill our action on the river and we need to build a pot to get value considering that this is a limped pot.

Looks like hit the Ace, maybe two pair like AT, pair and gutshot perhaps really dumb play with flush draw picked up on turn. Pot isn't big at all don't expect him to fold if you make it $7 total. Value bet river. Most likely getting paid off. I just don't think the pot is large enough to slowplay like this, missing ton of value.
