if ramirez pitches two innings today, he can't be used tomorrow. but he probably can't go more than two innings regardless. so, unless he can go a third inning, there's not much value to using him for a second inning when henn is out there.

torre began warming ramirez up when there was a prayer the yankees might still come back in this game.

Ah, I didn't realize he was already warming up. Still, Edwar for two and Henn for three would have finished the game. And they really shouldn't need Edwar tomorrow with Pettitte starting and Joba, Viz and Mariano rested.
