Maniacs make me mad
Villain (BB) is a borderline maniac. He's got a bet size tell where I know he's weak on the flop, on the turn that's either a real hand or a bluff or semibluff because I look weak. My problem is I'm not sure if I'm ahead on the turn. I can't call the turn bet unless I'm sometimes ahead unimproved. But if I fold the river every time, that was wrong, so... Re: Maniacs make me mad
I think you played it fine vs a maniac. What are your thoughts on c/r-ing the turn for value?

Re: Maniacs make me mad
Hmm.. the suggestion of betting into maniacs makes my spidey senses tingle. I probably should've min-3bet the flop

I love epdaws replies, LMFAO almost every time. I think that he pretty much hit the nail on the head,
Flop you have 2nd Nut flush draw+2 overcards, Turn you Have Tp2ndK, 2nd nut flush draw, +overcard, should be willing to push on either one of these streets and get your money in the middle. As played, call river and expect to be ahead here against your maniac enough to make this profitable. |

What are your thoughts on c/r-ing the turn for value? [/ QUOTE ] It's interesting though certainly high variance. If you miss the river you have to check-call a big bet. I dunno, I don't think I like it. If he has a hand big enough to pay off, then we need to improve and that doesn't happen often enough. As long as I check to him he could be betting with pure air, but as soon as I make him call he plays a lot better. |

Re: Maniacs make me mad
I think you played it fine. Though, I typically either bet/shove the flop or sometimes c/r against the maniac on the flop. c/r-ing this flop may not be as enticing, because it disuades people from calling a bet/raise.

Re: Maniacs make me mad
Hmmm.. something bothers me about this.
If I CR the turn and he calls, I'm behind and my equity stinks because there's only one card left. If I CR the turn and he folds, I was ahead already and dont need fold equity, though I guess it gives me some defence against random junk improving on the river. |
