Video-Editing Software (Please Recommend)
Hi,
I need video-editing software in a price range of up to $300. If you have something in mind that's a little more, I'll consider it. I was planning on getting the Windows software that you can download for free, but I've read many reviews saying it makes their computers crash a lot. Now I don't know if it's the software, or maybe their computers are a little dated and just don't have enough memory to handle the load. The computer I got yesterday has what I think is referred to as a dual processor (it says, "E440 Intel Core 2 Duo Processor"). The hard drive has a 250GB memory, with 2GB of Ram. I don't have a camcorder, I have a Canon PowerShot S5-IS camera that can record 4GB's of video (30 minutes, or 55 min if I compress it). Movies are saved in AVI format, using the M-JPEG codec. I don't need high-tech/movie-making capabilities. I just want to make 'How-To-Play Geetar' videos for YouTube. Somebody on this forum once recommended recording the sound separately, so I'll have to be able to match up the audio with the visual perfectly. That's probably the most important thing. The other things I'll need to do are transitions and editing out bad takes. That's about it I guess. Thanks for any recommendations. |

Re: Video-Editing Software (Please Recommend)
I've used Sony Vegas for video editing at work. It handles the basic tasks you mentioned fairly easily. Takes a little bit of a learning curve to get up to speed, but I like it.
Adobe Premier is another one that I've heard good things about. |

Re: Video-Editing Software (Please Recommend)
Download the Camtasia Studio Trial, it's the software that Cardrunners/Stoxpoker uses and it's great.

Re: Video-Editing Software (Please Recommend)
Camtasia has a timeline style setup for editing and you can output into all types of files and online streams. It does voiceovers for existing videos and you can record your computer screen with commentary as well. It also allows you to manage the file size by sacrificing qualty if it is too large. Has a 30 day trial- costs about 300.
Lol, bad timing |

My guide to Camtasia for poker videos. For live-action recording you'd just modify the obvious options. |
