im kinda getting tired of rap. i wanna fill my ipod with some old 90's rock. you know stuff like nirvana, oasis and third eye blind. can you guys remember any?

There is so much wrong with this thread.

First, there's the question itself. You've decided to quit rap for a while (ingenius!!), so it's time for some "90's rock" from "bands like Nirvana, Oasis and Third Eye Blind."

Ack.

Then, a bunch of people suggest mostly lame sh*t, at least half of which wasn't done in the 90's.

"How Soon Is Now?" Yeah, that Morrissey just TORE it up in the 90's.

Joy Division??! Yeah, that Ian Curtis sure was rocking our socks off, many years after his death.

I insist on better from my new home away from home.

I dont think the OP particularly minds me naming a few bands that I think he should check out that just happened to be 2 or 3 years before his stated date Rob.

I really will expect much more from your posts if this is gonna be your second home Rob. Your half-witted ill thought out sarcasm wont cut it here my friend.

Good shout with Belle and Sebastian as well

Oh, and have a look at Divine Comedy. Just for the off beat Lyrics.

Joy Division disbanded (well, turned into New Order) in 1980. They were a 1970s punk band. Not 1990s rock band. This is not splitting hairs.

I'm going to compile my list of bands already named which would make for an awesome mix CD:

Foo Fighters
Smashing Pumpkins
Live
Pearl Jam
Stone Temple Pilots
Blues Traveler
Oasis
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Radiohead

I would also throw in Greenday

These aren't ALL bands that I would consider listening to full albums of, but had at least a decent song or 3 in the 90s
