When you spend time in SE Asia, that much money starts to feel like a king's ransom.

When I was in Vietnam 7 years ago I loved it. But I got the feeling stuff was starting to get really commercialized. The Mekong Delta 2-day tour was the highlight for me.

Stop being an ass.

For most it's not the money it's the constant hassle of it all, the unsafe feeling and having to have your wits about you at all times while you're just there to see some places. Getting mugged by lots of random dudes in a foreign country obviously sucks.

There is some taxi companies that dont cheat, ask at the hotel. And make fixed price. And Ha Long bay is awesome if you have time.
