Hi Jeff:

I just happen to be the owner of this site. While I have no doubt you have a wonderful charity and work very hard supporting a good cause, I strongly recommend that you work your way through all the posts in this thread. Once you do that, you may want to respond again.

Best wishes,

this sucks; i played this event. i even commented to the guy who took my money that the (what I thought was 4%) juice was a good deal, and he said, "well, there is a little bit extra pulled out for staff" - but since that is commonplace (the extra 3% thing) I still thought I was getting a good deal. What a joke.

I still have my receipt card and will keep my eye on this; some kind of refund, at least of the excess we were lied to about, would be nice. Thanks to everyone who is knowledgeable about these matters and is doing something.

Wow, I would really hope to get a true update, but if that doesn't happen. I don't mind keeping this at the top of the topics list.

That "little extra" was about $450 per player. over $100,000 was taken from 234 players.

Mason, ever since the true numbers have come out; and other tournaments with discrepancies reported; there hasn't been a single post from anyone at CEO or their sponsors. I think their legal support advised them not to comment any further.

Did anyone notice their upcoming events?

Aug 30 - Sep 10 at the Venetian Las Vegas

Nov 26 - Dec 3 at Caesars Palace Las Vegas

Those of you who played in CEO events should contact the poker room managers at the Venetian and Caesars and let them know what's going on and give them a link to this thread.

All who took part in these tournaments were certainly scammed.

"Hello, my name is Jeffrey Gordon and I am the President /CEO of the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation...
We are in contact right now with the Venetian Hotel and they are processing the wonderful donation."

Based on the above, someone (or all of you) should telephone the Venetian ASAP before they pay out "...the wonderful donation".

On second thought, besides calling the Venetian, call the Nevada Gaming Control Board asap (see my post below).
Get the name of the agent you speak to.

Default Re: Venetian CEO Poker Tournament Main Event Furor

"A near riot broke out when a few of the players at the Venetian CEO Poker tournament learned that almost $500 was taken out of each persons $2600 main event entry fee..."

Be advised that in the future when something like this occurs and fraud and/or a breach of gaming regulations is suspected - call the Nevada Gaming Control Board immediately.

Also - for patron disputes involving $500 or more, the casino is obligated by statute to contact Gaming at once (although they frequently don't comply with this regulation).
You can demand that the casino contact Gaming and have an agent appear on the premises asap.

Gaming has agents on duty 24/7.

The Venetian can face possible fines and/or other sanctions from the NGCB, if they were notified of this dispute and did not themselves immediately contact Gaming.

I don't have time to read this thread but I final tabled this event. If I am entitled to some money or something, somebody PM me and let me know plz, reward will be given.

I am strongly opposed to the massive rake and was very pissed off when I got deep into the money and found out they were taking 18%.

I would think that if you are entitled to some money back (I actually think you are as are all players who entered), it would be worth taking an hour out of your day or night to read up on the details yourself.
