Book Club 10/14/06 - Market Forces File 2

Yep. File 3 next week.

No offense Fortuna, but it's really starting to wear on me. I thought File 1 was much better. Now there's basically no action, and a lot of the character interactions are getting stale. Also, I really don't like Liz Linshaw. I kind of wish she would just go away.

No worries, none taken. I didn't write the thing. The book's not an intellectual challenge, and is suitable for entertainment, not discourse.

Pretty sure dragging this on another month (5 Files) would be a death knell for this idea.

File 2 is the weakest part. Morgan tends to fall flat when presenting a worldview. It's tolerable in his other works 'cause he has an empty canvas.

Discussion of File 1 ended up being a discussion of sci-fi authors in general anyway. Unless there's a need to follow protocol, I'll cut to the chase.

Not sure what you're saying here. Do you mean we should just do the rest in a week, or dump this one and go to the next book, or what?

I agree that it's a chore to get through, and would prefer to move on personally, if everyone else wants to.

Yeah, move on. This should be enjoya and not a struggle, otherwise what's the point of having this idea?

Okay. I'll still finish it and start a thread when I do, but I'll start selection for the next book now.
