There are 2 regular large NLH cash games here but hadnt heard about any wins > 100K for a while

[/ QUOTE ]

i don't know who you are, but this is flat out wrong.

[/ QUOTE ]

Not sure which part you are saying is wrong. There's definitely at least 2 high stakes games going "by invitation" on a weekly basis.

[/ QUOTE ]

There are other regular huge games that occur in hotel rooms/event spaces by invitation as well that you may or may not be privy to.

every single part of that statement is wrong. there are more than two high stakes invitation only games, and there are plenty of 100k wins. which games are you referring to?

That's what I thought you meant.

It's hard to find high-stakes ($50/$100 or more) no-limit games in New York that are not restricted to people too rich to care about the money. There's a lot of $5/$10 no-limit and $25/$50 no-limit; and up to $400/$800 limit, these are open to most people who have the stake.

I can't say whether someone won $500,000 in one session, but it's not common in New York, unless you count people who make more money than that every day running hedge funds. The people who play for those stakes go to Atlantic City or Las Vegas to play for high stakes. It's safer and easier to find a good dealer and set-up.
