Default Trip report - playing with my new puppy (w/ pics)

I just got a Landseer Newfoundland. He's 8 weeks old, 20 pounds, and named Bosco! Between poker and goofing off tonight, I take him out of his cage to play with him. (He can't be loose yet because he's not housebroken)

First, he hates being locked up. He cries and barks and cries again whenever he is. Poor little sad puppy.

So I take him out, and play with him! He likes to roam around the house and check things out. We have lots and lots of toys, and when he's not chewing on my jeans or my hair, he likes to play with those.

He also likes to play with the other dogs. He follows the big one, Dusty, all around the house. If I want Bosco to come, I call Dusty and Bosco will come running after. Earlier, he attacked Dusty's tail and freaked him out. I about died laughing.

And finally, playing with him wears him out, so then it's time for a puppy nap.

I like the new newfie. I'm not sure which is better, though... a 20-pound newfie or a 200-pound newfie.

Puppies rule - I just got a new one myself and it's a blast. It's awesome how well he gets along with my now 1+ year old puppy - looks like you've got the same thing going on.

there is no such thing as an inside newfie. iI can't believe you are crazy enough to get a newfie. I can't believe you got a Lanseer. This is so exciting and crazy. I'm glad I am not you 8 months from now.

Remove the word "new" and replace "puppy" with "kitty", and this is the awesome-est subject line ever.

He'll be the third newfie we (my family and I) have had. We like big dogs!

He only has to stay in the cage as part of his housebreaking. It doesn't take long. And we live in texas, so he'll mostly be an inside dog, all of our dogs are. They spend maybe 2 hours a day outside, but most of the time they are inside with us. They all seem happy this way.
