Default Big pot

Late morning live, red chip game somewhere in Northern California. Table is new, game has been going for about 2 hours, and I'm a new Asian face in a sea of regulars who know each other. I've been quiet and have shown down only once but with Aces.

Tight seeming guy opens UTG+1, four coldcalls, SB calls, I call from the BB with T [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. Flop is KT3 rainbow and it checks around.

Turn is a K putting up a spade draw. SB, an older, non-spazzy Asian woman scans the table and bets, I raise, everyone folds and she calls.

Turn is a 5. She turns to me and gives me the chips in fist check. Do I check or bet and if I bet, what am I trying to accomplish?

well I can't see this as being anything but a value bet. in the games I play I wouldn't be shocked to see a king show up here, you're basically hoping she shows up with something like 44-99 or a 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]? I think with QT it's an easy bet but here I'm not so sure.

if you're betting, it's a bluff.

if you bet and get called you're losing most of the time and a better hand is never folding. i think it's less likely she bet the turn with a PP 99 or smaller because of the huge field and more likely she has a K, a better T or a hand that can't call like QJ or spades that missed

I would say its value-bluff time, but its been said already a better T is not folding with the busted flush and sds out. I would check and try not to tilt if she turns over a pp.

fold turn...

seriously why raise, your done. you are putting in 2bb with a likely dead hand.

Does no one else see this?

Fold turn/check river. There is no point in betting.

[ QUOTE ]
Fold the turn.

[/ QUOTE ]

You realize that there are 8 BBs in the pot when it comes to you on the turn and it is very unlikely anyone has a King?

I think it may be somewhat close but I can't lay this one down yet when there are a lot of hands I beat and there is a decent chance I can get a better hand to fold leaving me HU with a worse hand. If the pfr is sitting there with JJ and decided not to bet it on the flop don't you think he will be in a tough spot facing 2 cold on the turn?

DaveR: I think Bakku nailed this one. I think I check it back but first could you describe the "chips in first" move please?
