Well....almost always. I don't remember the incident, however, Carter chose to cut down a tree near an aggressive action by a bordering country overseas that cost the life of an American soldier, instead of bombing.

I remember reading about this. Germany and Japan lived in caves, had no language and ate all their meats raw. The United States civilized them. I believe it was a project code named "Henry Higgens."

No one is saying that America is evil, they are just pointing out that not that long ago sections of western communities held beliefs that were deeply ignorant and deeply irrational but they were able to move forward without anyone dropping bombs on them.

As for mobs. Near where I live a mob attacked and set fire to a house that belonged to a pediatrician, because they heard the prefix of there job title and assumed that they were a pedophile. Mobs normally constitute the dumbest and most reactionary elements of society and I wouldnt want anyone using the latter mentioned mob to draw conclusions about the entirety of British society.
