Re: Who here finished college in 4 years?

[ QUOTE ] Some girl my roommate dated graduated in 4 SEMESTERS. God damn. [/ QUOTE ] how did this person have any time to do anything but work? [/ QUOTE ] I asked my roommate about it today, it was actually 5 semesters. I would venture to guess that her "free" time consisted only of eating and sleeping. |

[/ QUOTE ] I see that as entirely possible at a state school. It's easy to come into college with 8-10 AP credits plus language proficiency. 32 classes - 10 for APs and lang leaves 22 classes, 5 at a time without much of a problem leaves 4-5 semesters. As long as you can fulfill your requirements, and obviously class requirements and strenuousness can affect this. It's all about whether you know how to fulfill your requirements and take the right classes. People that change majors and things are the ones that get set back. |

Re: Who here finished college in 4 years?
Computer Engineering degree in 4 years, and I failed 2 classes and dropped another 3 at various points. If you want to graduate in 4 years and can't then you might not have picked the right major.
If you don't want to graduate in 4 years I have nothing against it, I know lots of people who graduated in 3 years or 5 years and it was right for them. |

Re: Who here finished college in 4 years?
if you want to make the most money down the road go big 4 (or a mid sized public acct firm), don't go private. I worked at KPMG for 3 years, worked my ass off, but learned an amazing amount.

at ohio state almost every major is at least 5 years minimum [/ QUOTE ] Wow, seriously? I would love to stay for 5 years (and I might anyway, 4+1 masters ftw) but it really is not hard to graduate in 4. Especially if you come in with any AP credits whatsoever and make doubly sure to check for courses that fill more than one requirement. |

Re: Who here finished college in 4 years?
Dude, I got a degree in 4 years from OSU and I didn't settle on a major until the end of sophomore year. I also failed 2 classes. You should be able to get 200 credit hours without trying very hard.

Re: Who here finished college in 4 years?
I would like to point out, in general, that there probably won't be very many people on this board that can't/won't graduate in four years or less. I personally found college to be ridiculously easy, and so do the majority of people here. We are, after all, on a poker forum, where brilliant people seem to make up a large percentage of the users.
For the AVERAGE college student, it is not hard to see why it would be harder for them to graduate on time. Anybody can get into college these days, even those with sub-par intelligence. Also, there are many people that do not have significant scholarships, financial aid, or poker money, and therefore have to work a lot more than the people that post here. |
