player's bank / box equivalent -- Bay 101

I have a safe deposit box at a local bank that I keep the cash portion of my bankroll in. This is fine, except that I don't have 24hr access to my box, and I would really like to keep as little cash on me as possible.

I mostly play at the Bay 101, and I've tried to get a box there, but they are all in use and they have a waiting list.

Also, they don't seem to have a player's bank or anything like that, so I feel like I have no options to just keep my money there. This really bugs me, because they seem to be the only casino I know of that is true for, and they spread the largest limit hold 'em games in the Bay Area.

I mostly feel okay about this at the levels I currently play at, but when I eventually decide to move up, the idea of booking a big win at say 100-200, where I would occasionally end up with 20k on me or something, and not having a place to deposit this money safely late at night bothers me.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I've never heard of a casino that doesn't offer front money accounts. At the very least, they should be able to "hold money for safekeeping" if you feel uncomfortable with the amount of paper you have on you. But seriously, a room that spreads 1-2 without players accounts? I'd talk to the cardroom manager, maybe whoever you talked to misunderstood your concerns.

most players get some big denomination chips and carry those. that makes it easy. if you play high you will end up with a box. it may be over on the other side though no big deal.
the place is pretty safe so carrying some cash isnt that big an issue.
the laws in san jose are funny and precludes them from doing alot of regular casino things, like accounts and even buying you some food. it all falls under promoting gambling.

I do generally carry chips, I see how that helps a little, but someone can just steal the chips. Though they have to go to the casino and cash them and that makes it more inconvienent.

I didn't realize they have more boxes on the other side, I'll have to ask at the main cage.

I feel like the place is fairly safe too. I just like to take all the precautions I can.

The boxes are theoretically "full" on the other side, but you can get one if you talk to a lead floor to go over there and hook you up. This shouldn't be a problem if you are a regular. Toke the cashier a few bucks for hooking you up. The lead floor cannot take tokes in San Jose.

How tough is it to play underage at Bay 101? I'm going back home to the Bay Area for the summer and I'm 20 for a few more months and I really want to get some live play in.

Playing underage at the Bay is very tricky and I don't recommend it. They are (rightfully) paranoid about the city finding whatever thing they can to shut them down and will check ID's. Every time somebody raises your question I am forced to recount my story from about a year and a half ago. At the time I was a regular in the 80-160 game they had and playing about 6 days a week. I got up from the table to take a leak and on my way back from the can I got stopped by the security guard (new guy) who insisted on checking my ID. The entire table saw me, two floormen came over, and everyone started laughing at me. One guy said "Hey white-boy! If they send you to jail, I get your chips, right?" (I had like 8K on the table). It was pretty funny actually. The guard felt really bad but he was just doing his job. If he's willing to stop a 26-year old regular in the biggest game in the room, I'm sure some 20 year old dude coming in the first time has a low probability of not getting busted. Play on the internet instead.

sucker is right. ive gotten id'd 90% of the times i went there. theyve actually not id'd me as much recently. they now have 3 doors at the main entrance, if you make it quick(but natural) you can go through the rightmost door straight to the poker room. however, even if you get this far you will get randomly id'd a lot. 2 dealers id'd me last time, but i was playing 3/6 with my friend, so who knows. i saw sucker, but he looked unhappy and deeply concentrated, so i didnt say hi [img]/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img].

Thanks for the heads up on this guys. I do have a fake that decent/good, gets me into bars/clubs and buy booze with no problem(Oregon ID). Is this an even worse idea than just trying to sneak in and play underage?
