Re: This forum has 3 months to live without a split
If we split, i would prefer 100+ and 50-. there would not be enough traffic with just 200+. I'm still not sure the split is necessary, there's just not that many guys who play 400+ who would post threads right now.

[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] Threads started in the last week: 400NL - 8 200NL - 30 100NL - 47 50NL - 70 25NL - 36 10NL - 19 5NL - 3 Live - 8 [/ QUOTE ]I don't think this is a good measuring tool either. A lot of $200+ regulars say that they'd post alot more if the forum was split. Mr. Donk and SABR42 come to mind but there have been many more that have said the same. [/ QUOTE ] +1 |

Re: This forum has 3 months to live without a split
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] I actually think you would get a lot more combined traffic if you split the forums. It seems like 90 percent of the people would view the forums more if it was split and would post/view more if it was infact split. It seems like everyone is getting fed up with the forums without a split, and rightfully. Lowestakes players would post more hands because they wouldn't be afraid of being made fun of. Medium/High stake players would post more hands because they would get input from players who play at a similar level and it would generate a lot better discussion. I don't see how traffic would go down if we split the forums. If we split the forums and you took the combined traffic from the lowstake/medium/high stake full ring forums, I think it would drastically improve, not go down. [/ QUOTE ] agree [/ QUOTE ] It would also be good if all full ring hands posted in the other NL strat forums were moved to the appropriate FR forum. There are usually a few FR posts in MSNL (usually live games), for example, but they'd have a better forum for discussion in a FR mid-to-high stakes forum instead of MSNL where the game of choice is almost exclusively mid-stakes 6-max on-line NLHE with the occasional heads up hand. |

However, even if 200NL and above posts doubled, if the split was at 200NL we'd have 183 threads per week in the lower limit forum and 76 threads per week in higher limit forum. As the numbers currently stand if the split was 100NL and above, we'd have 85 per week in the higher forum and 136 threads per week in the lower. With all these hypothetical new mid-stakes posts we'd wind up with balanced forums. There's nothing to say FRNL won't eventually split again but I don't think 200NL+ is a viable forum at this time. We can speculate all day about how many posts there may or may not be, but the reality is that these lack of posts is the biggest argument against splitting and for setting the split at 100NL and above. |

Re: This forum has 3 months to live without a split
[ QUOTE ]
I would think that a split would be at 100NL for two reasons. To follow the precedent set by the SSNL/uNL split and to ensure a reasonable split of traffic among the new forums. [/ QUOTE ] If the split were to occur, I think using NL100 as the split based on keeping the traffic equal would be a mistake. You are obviously going to have more posts in micro stakes because their are more players at those limits. Also those player's have more to learn and are more likely to make posts. I think it needs to be based on where the quality of play differentiates the most which is at NL200 and higher. If you've reached the point that you can beat NL200 then you have a good grasp of basic concepts and are looking to learn more advanced plays and theory. Also, why does the traffic need to be the same in both. I'm sure HSNL gets less posts/traffic than SSNL, but that doesn't mean you should drop the HSNL forum. |

Re: This forum has 3 months to live without a split
A lot of micro and small stakes guys would be posting more if they had a separate forum.
There would be a lot more participation if there were a split. Until that happens the FR forum is going to be held down and you aren't going to see a whole lot of traffic. |

Re: This forum has 3 months to live without a split
Just remember if we split that doesnt mean all of the higher stakes players are going to reply to some decent small and micro stakes posts. I agree so long as we keep it like this we are holding the High stakes potential of this forum back. This is coming from someone who is a 25NL play also.
