1st post and it\'s in this thread
This is my first post and I have a coouple of questions. I've been betting at bodog for NBA mostly (7-2-1 for the year) and when i look at the "betting trends" under a team I don't understand all of it.
When it says that a team is "Team X" is 5-1 SU in its last 6 games or when "team x" is -2 ATS in its last 6 games.. what does the SU and ATS mean? Also when people say units.. is there no set number as to how much that means in monetary value? Is it simply 1-2% of a individuals bankroll? |

Re: 1st post and it\'s in this thread
SU = Straight up. (Did they win?)
ATS = Against the spread. (Did they win with the handicap applied) Unit = Personal choice, often 1-2% of the bankroll. It is simply done because if I post I bet $200 on a game, you have no idea if that's me being confident or not. Lori |

All of Lori's answers are right, of course.
I just wanted to add that the "trends" offered by sportsbooks aren't all that relevant to determining what team to bet on. |
