Winrate/stakes Q
I've turned $2 into $40 in the last 3 days by grinding .01/.02. I have played 2,000 hands, so I know this is a small sample, but I wanted an idea.
My win rate/100 is $1.70 My ptBB/100 is 44.03 How is this? good, bad, average? |

Re: Winrate/stakes Q
Your current winrate is 88.06BB/100 which is great. But 2000 is a very small sample size to calculate winrate from. So don't expect to keep running that hot .

Re: Winrate/stakes Q
What is usually considered a good sustainable win rate?

Re: Winrate/stakes Q
It depends on the limits you play. At 0.01/0.02 I've been able to maintain a winrate of about 20BB/100 over 25k hands. But as the limits go up the expected win rate goes down because the players get better. At 25NL - 50Nl I think winrates of 4BB/100 are good. Not too sure though.

Re: Winrate/stakes Q
Anything positive is good. Fullring 0-6ptbb/100 is good and sustainable. Shorthanded 0-12 is good and sustainable. Only great players will sustain winrates near the top of those ranges. |

Anything positive is good. [/ QUOTE ] I couldn't agree more with this. If you are beating the rake and enjoy playing poker then it's good |

Re: Winrate/stakes Q
Thanks Night and Kurt.
I suppose if I can keep it above 10 BB/100 then I should move up (assuming BR is good)? |

Re: Winrate/stakes Q
Let your bankroll and your comfort in the games decide what stakes you play, not your winrate.

Thanks Night and Kurt. I suppose if I can keep it above 10 BB/100 then I should move up (assuming BR is good)? [/ QUOTE ] Certainly. I find that most players up to at least .10/.25 are pretty bad. But as the others said, make sure you are rolled for it--at least $100 for the .02/.05 game would be best. |

It depends on the limits you play. [/ QUOTE ] Yes. It's very clear that the games get tougher as you move up, and the achievable win rates go down significantly. If you hear that an excellent player is winning 10 big blinds/100 at NL $600, this does not mean winning 10 big blinds/100 is a good win rate at NL $25. [ QUOTE ] http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showfl...p;vc=1&nt=4 [/ QUOTE ] Unfortunately, the context of many of the win rates quoted is not clear. Many of the players are playing 10 or more tables. They are intentionally leaving a lot of money on the table in order to play more hands per hour. If you are playing only 4 tables or fewer, you should be able to achieve a much higher win rate per hand than someone who is playing 12 tables. In past stats threads in the SSNL forum, many players have reported winning over 10 PTBB/100 (20 big blinds/100), in both full ring and 6-max, through NL $100 or NL $200. The games may be a bit tougher now, but not so much that 5 PTBB is a good win rate at NL $25 if you are playing fewer than 6 tables. |
