I'll be in St. Louis on 9/15 on business (going to Fairmount Park) and want to check out a casino in the area. Which have hotels? Is there one with a good combination or nightlife/poker room/hotel?
As the subject says, I'll stay in either state since I'm driving to KC on Sunday. |

Here's the problem: If OP is definitely headed to Fairmount, then the closest casinos are the Queen and the President. Alton Belle is next, and Aharrastar is the longest drive (34 miles, according to Mapquest). Fairmount is, to put it kindly, a dump. If OP can handle that kind of atmosphere, he can certainly handle the dumpiness of the President. Whether he wants to is another question entirely. |

your point is well taken, sir.
OP, if you have no objection to playing in a dump, by all means The President is the place for you, as it is the only Casino in the downtown area with poker. However, if you have any standards at all, make the 34 mile drive to Harrahs or Ameristar. It will be well worth it. |

I am definitely going to Fairmount, and since I'm heading to Kansas City the next day, the extra 34-mile drive to Harrah's only makes sense.
Thanks for all the input... any breakfast recommendations between St. Louis and KC? |

You will be disappointed if you stay and play anywhere other than Harrah's. I would book right away because it does get full fast. There are many other hotels very close to Harrah's as well if they are fully booked.

Just so that it's not a complete hijack, Ill echo everyones consensus that Harrah's is easily the best room in the area.
Now, since I have a St Louis based audience, does anyone know what Pinnacles plans are reguarding poker in either Lumiere Place, or the RiverCity projects that should be opening this year or next? |
