Default NL10 88 overpair in position

Once more, I need some advice, and all comments are very welcome! Thank you very much!

Reads: I know the villain for a short time only. He hasnīt done anything outstanding until now. Itīs just enough to assume he is not a complete maniac or a gambler. He is playing 3 tables at a time.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.10 BB (8 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

CO ($10)
Button ($24)
SB ($11.20)
BB ($9.90)
UTG ($5.10)
UTG+1 ($4)
MP1 ($11.15)
Hero ($10.90)

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. CO posts a blind of $0.10.
2 folds, MP1 raises to $0.4, Hero calls $0.40, 2 folds, SB raises to $0.8, BB calls $0.70, MP1 calls $0.40, Hero calls $0.40.

Flop: ($3.30) 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (4 players)
SB bets $2, BB folds, MP1 folds, Hero ???

All right. I played for set value when I made my initial preflop call and also when I called his preflop 3-bet.

Now I find myself with a tiny overpair in position, the pot is a lot bigger than Iīd like it to be for that holding, but I might very well have the best hand anyway.

I really do ask myself, what does his smallish preflop 3-bet mean? Does it mean he has AA, KK and he thinks itīs a lock so he wants all the people in the hand? Or does he rather think like, "hey, my AK is very good, so itīs a 3-bet, but it is not yet a pair, so I make a small 3-bet"?

He must have some kind of strange reasoning, and the latter seems to be the more likely one.

1. Does he have AK often enough, so I can continue, and how?

2. What is your preflop play with AK if you were the villain?

Villain bet into 3 people out of position I think I tend to give him credit here since you haven't seen him get out of line yet. He gave you great odds to hit your set on the flop and you missed. Plus your hand doesn't really match up well against someones 3bet range unless they are the maniac type.

My preflop play with AK against an MP raiser and a caller is to bump it to something like 1.30 especially if I think I can get the original raiser to fold or can atleast get it heads up.

Fold. It's NL10. Just keep it simple. Hit your set and push, otherwise fold.

100% correct. At these buy ins, any other line is FPS and unnecessary.

While I agree he should fold, I think saying, it's NL10 is wrong. Whether the OP is playing NL10 or NL1000 he should be given a reason why it is best to fold in this regards.
