Briefly, I'd say it's very good. I disagreed with some of the plays he recommended, but Harrington himself throughout the book recognizes that different plays fit different styles and there is not always one right answer.

For me, the analysis of putting people on hands is the best part, since that's where my weakness lies at this point. Interestingly, I don't necessarily think you have to read the first two volumes to get some use out of HOH3; it would probably be beneficial since he explains some terms like M in those volumes, but not necessarily required.

Is it still primarily focused on tourneys or are there good nuggets applicable to cash game play?

It is focused on tourneys, with an emphasis generally on particular hands at various stages of a tourney. However, the hand reading, opponent style and betting strategies could be applied to cash games in a lot of respects, IMO. If nothing else, it's an interesting read that causes you to consider and answer questions throughout a hand.

I've only read about 9-10 hands so far and I don't really like it. I disagreed with a few plays but then again he's the world champion and I'm nowhere close to the caliber of player he is so I definitely will read the book and take what he has to say with a lot of regard.

This sounds good to me. If you agree with everything in a book, chances are that you wouldn't be able to learn much from that book.

Some of the sit and go examples he gave were awful and most people in STTF agree. But other than that the book was pretty good. I still think there was too much an emphasis on pot odds for every hand. Also it would have been nicer if it was really for advanced players and he talked about ICM and expected value more often.

it is a very good book. volume 1 was very good, volume 2 was one of the best poker books ever written, this is a workbook based on volumes 1 & 2. therefore, it can not cover as much "new" ground, so it can not be as good as volumes 1 &2. still, for what it is, it is very good. i strongly recommend it.
