The fact that my play was bad has already been proven by the fact that he called. I clearly misinterpreted his sanity.

I was completely expecting him to be 3-betting me light here. So I thought I had to punish him for this.

two things
1. AT is pretty much terrible for calling a 3 bet with even IP.
2. if someone 3 bets me pre then checks the flop they often have a monster or are weak tight/ this guy isnt weak tight but his line screams strength so I dont know why you would try to bluff him here.
oh and sometimes players just dont like to fold a pair when its heads up like this esp with an ace kicker.

good instincts that this guy was weak but not a great spot overall.
