Default Party Poker not giving points on Steps tournaments (long post)

Please can you guys give me feedback as to whether I am being a nit in relation to this or not.

Party have re-introduced the steps tournaments and I thought I would give them a shot, I did OK and got to the final table coming 5th and winning $500.

What surprised me though is that when I checked my party points for the next day they had only increased by 6 points and not by nearly 100 as I expected, correspondence follows below.

Thank you for the reply. Please can you explain to me if there is no
rake then why the money is reduced in the prize pool. for example of the
final table a total of $5000 was used to but on yet only $4700 was paid
out.

I am sorry but it is quite evident that rake IS being taken, it even
states on the table that the buy-in includes the tournament fee. You
know and I know that you are shorting the players with regards this, I
was hoping to increase my play using the steps as I saw it as a good way
to increase my party points but it seems pointless doing this if you are
going to take a tournament fee but not provide point reward for doing
so.

As an example; Poker Stars run satellites around the clock, you can win
into the $million dollar tournament on a sunday by entering a
$36+$3freezeout. If I qualify I then enter the sunday million for a
buy-in of $200 + $15 , I get frequent player points for BOTH of these as
I have paid rake on both.

I am looking for an honest answer here I would rather you say well
normally we pay points but we are not going to on this occasion and at
least I can take it further rather than an answer that we both know is
ambiguous at best.

Free Roll - A poker tournament for which there is no entry fee, but
there are real money prizes.

I posted the above as this is different from what actually happens
during the steps tournaments.

>

Thank you for contacting us,

Please rest assured, rake is not taken from these tournaments. The
buy-in goes to the prize pool and the entry fee is taken by the house,
for hosting the tournament. No rake is taken at all.

The prize pool was advertised as $5000, this is if the tournament has
the maximum players registered. If the tournament falls short by a few
players, then it stands to reason, that the prize pool will fall too.
The prize pool is the buy-in from all the players added together.

I hope this reassures you, if not however please contact us again.

So in effect Party have gone from saying that there is no fee to be paid as it is a freeroll, despite an original buy-in (WTF). To now saying that there are no tournament fees (rake) as the fee taken is a house charge, I know that there isn’t much I can do about this as they really don’t care about their customers. But I just wanted some feedback and to warn others as well.

What is average salary of party support employee?

Do you must take test to prove you are a retard when applying for job?

PP seems to define rake as being taken from a pot, and a tournament entry fee as something different.

That, while odd, is logically consistent if you have a very tight definition of the word "rake" - which we obviously do not.

Party seem to excel in finding new ways to sh!it on small stake players. They either hate them or think that they're all so thick and won't leave if we treat them with contempt.

The $5 s&g's have $1 juice, They've changed the rake so it's raked every 20 cents and now they've stopped party points for step players.

I thought they'd be bending over to attract players now but no, they still find new ways to p!ss people off.

I honestly think they are more interested in the party gaming angle rather than Party Poker. IMHO ever since they floated they have started to turn the screw on the lower level player, I like playing on there and I am by no means a high roller but instead of having 80% of my buiness they get maybe 5-10% because of this.

I also noticed this, and it is consistent with Party's one track mind on not doing the right thing.
Most people will have forgot how they screwed the players out of $5 Million of their money.

But Not I.

Are you sure it's not just greed? I wonder what the traffic for PartyCasino is compared to Poker.

On a sidenote. I had $6 in my Party account two nights ago so the only thing I could do was play a $5+$1 S&G. By the end of the night I had $100! They were the most retarded games I've ever played. Obviously the juice is criminal but it begs the question, is it worth paying the extra to play against the world's worst players?

Consider you were at a casino and there were two games of poker going on. One was a rock garden and the other a bunch of tourists splashing the pot with any two cards. Surely you'd drop the floor manager some money if you could if he could get you a game at this table.

I was pissed, please tell me I'm wrong. It's not worth paying a bit extra to play the softest games

The rake is just too much, 20% is extremely hard to beat over the long run even with really bad players. You should play in the $10's they are pretty much the same game with half the rake & double the prize pool.
